Photographers since before Ansel Adams have been the best representatives of conserving our natural landscape.
The breathtaking photography of such photographers as Adams, Sexton and Muench have been credited with saving much of our natural landscape when their photographs convinced Congress to pass laws to protect them.
As a photographer you can keep up this reputation of protecting the beautiful landscape surrounding Sedona by making a donation to this website, while at the same time you'll have a chance to win one of the cash prizes.

Two contests to Enter
You Must First Register and Log-in to enter a contest
- 3 Month Contest (April 30-June 30, 2012) Submit your BEST photos of Sedona, the ones that Capture the Wonder, and make a Donation to help keep Sedona beautiful. Enter the "Photo Only" contest (Amateur or Professional), prizes totalling $350.
- 1 Month Mini-Contest (April 30-May 31, 2012) Match your photos to the Sedona poem below and create an artistic fusion of words + landscape, and make a Donation to help keep Sedona beautiful. Enter the "Photo-Poetry" contest (Amateur or Professional). Top 3 winners will be added to the Final Grande Prize Contest, to be announced. No cash prizes offered for mini-contests, winners will be featured on website and other media.

Poet and Sedona lover, Blair Matthews has written a set of poems extolling the virtues of our beautiful red rock country. We have created a contest where you submit a photo that you feel best matches-up with the given poem. Then— the visitors to our website vote and decide which photo best complements the poem — that photo Wins! It’s that simple.
We need your donation to keep the Sedona Capture the Wonder website going, and to help Keep Sedona Beautiful, Inc. continue to protect and sustain the unique scenic beauty and natural environment of the Greater Sedona area.

Your pictures of Sedona can win. When you submit your photo(s) to the contest, we need you to make a donation. The money you donate is used to maintain and host this site, to pay for prizes to the winners, and to help Keep Sedona Beautiful continue its mission of keeping Sedona beautiful!
"The first time I hiked in Sedona I felt "it". That special something that draws so many people here. When I first heard about KSB's photo contests in 2008 I could finally define what "it" was. It was an overwhelming feeling of thankfulness and wonder to be in such a beautiful place. I loved Keep Sedona Beautiful's idea of trying to "Capture the Wonder" I was feeling with my photography. I have moved permanently to Sedona and have many opportunities to photograph the many moods of the land. One stormy day I was out looking for interesting images and happened upon the image I used for this competition. I couldn't believe my good fortune finding Cathedral Rock, a rainbow and a reflection! Hopefully when others view the many great photos that have been generated by this competition they too will feel the "wonder". I'm happy to support KSB and their efforts to preserve the uniqueness of Sedona." Cherie Tolliver

- Voting is Free! Every site visitor can vote on every photo of Sedona ... but to be fair to the photographers, you can only vote once per photo. Please consider donating when you vote --- Help keep Sedona beautiful.
- Anyone can win! Categories for both professionals and amateurs.
- It's easy and fun! Click on “Enter our Contest,” to begin. If you haven’t registered, you will be directed to register. Read the easy-to-read Terms of use for the site and the General Rules. Just upload your photo from your computer to our site, and come back to vote after the contest closes. Don't forget to tell your friends to vote! Each person may vote only once on any given Sedona photo to be fair to the photographers.
Current contest begins October 16, 2011. Submit photos until Midnight (all times are Arizona time), December 31, 2011. The voting period begins at 1:00 a.m. Jan 1, 2012 and continues until Midnight January 31, 2012. Winners will be notified by email and the winning photos will be posted on this site within one week of that date.
The voting period for the previous contest begins immediately following the end of submission for that contest and continues for one month. Be sure to come back and vote for your favorite photos submitted for the current contest and tell you friends, it's FREE! Each person may vote only once but you have an opportunity to vote on all of the photos in the contest.
